Eating in Munich

Munich is well-known for its fine food and delicious beers. In the city you will find many typical restaurants which serve traditional Bavarian dishes, as well as international restaurants with varied dishes.
As in almost all cities in Germany, Munich’s menus are dominated with wurst and sausages. Other local specialties are Munchner Wurstsalat made up of thinly sliced sausages, oil and vinegar, lettuce and sliced Swiss cheese, and Leberkas with sausages served alongside potato salad.
The city is a paradise for drinkers; there are many beer houses and beer gardens. Munich’s breweries produce their own unique brews like the Bavarian dark beer and the Starkbier.
