Germany can enjoy periods of hot weather during the summer months. July is warmest with temperatures reaching a maximum of 22 degrees Celsius (72 degrees Fahrenheit). In Hamburg it also happens to be rainiest month with up to 83 millimetres of rainfall. Winter, by contrast, may be fairly cold, with snow and ice. January is the coldest month when temperatures can fall to minus two degrees Celsius (28 degrees Fahrenheit).
