Frankfurt By Public Transport
Public Transport in Frankfurt is kind of expensive, but really efficient. It is formed by an integrated network of modern underground U-bahn lines, S-bahn city trains and buses. Most of public transport operates from 4am to 2am, and there are also night bus routes which operate from 1am.
Around Frankfurt there are 7 U-Bahn lines, sometimes these come over ground outside the city centre. The S-Bahn trains cover the city suburbs as well as the international airport.
Many people prefer to buy daily travel cards which cover buses, trams and trains; others prefer the Hotel Guest ticket that offers two days free transport and is inexpensive.
Frankfurt By Bicycle
Frankfurt is a good city for cyclists; there are bike hire passages almost in all places. Many of the streets have a cycling lane; the most beautiful route is along the River Main. Around the city you will find many places to rent a bike, especially at the Central Station.
Frankfurt By Taxi
Taxis are safe, but expensive. They charge by the trip and by the carload, some of them could carry up to six passengers. The most expensive charges are paid in holidays. Taxis are easy to recognize, they are usually beige Mercedez.
Frankfurt By Car
The routes in the city are really good, but it is not advisable driving there. If you recently arrived in the city it is really confusing; there are lots of streets and expensive parking spaces. The centre of Frankfurt is seriously congested during rush hours, so try to not drive during this time.
